About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security - Current Operations Division on Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.
Duties
Responsible for the coordination of a variety of plans and operations support activities to include facilities support.
Serve as an action officer for initiatives requiring coordination of Operations Branch activities.
Represent the Operations Branch at meetings, briefings and conferences involving plans or operational issues as directed.
Perform such duties as Collateral Duty Safety Officer, Building Fire Marshal, Physical Security Officer, and Key Control Officer as needed.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Position may require shift work and/or work on rotating shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays and in other situations.
- Position is designated as a Key position.
- Position designated as an Emergency Essential position.
- This position requires the ability to lift 25 lbs.; or heavier items with assistance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Recommend actions required to implement operations; 2) Conducting studies/reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of current and projected training operations; AND 3) Preparing and delivering briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field wich demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
