Duties
Serve as a staff HR advisor and action officer for personnel related functions.
Manage organization’s civilian awards program
Provide position management and classification advice to supervisors/ managers and employees of the organization.
Provide technical assistance to managers and supervisors to develop employee training and Individual Developmental Plans (IDP).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Employment is subject to a one-year probationary period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). GS-09: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in the job. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Preparing documents using automated systems and/or databases, (2) applying HR policies to various program operations to provide recommendations; AND (3) research personnel issues to assist with HR advisory. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-07).

Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Reviewing personnel programs to improve operational efficiency to provide recommendations; (2) Monitor HR programs such as incentives or awards for the organization; AND (3)Assisting with training employees on various recruitment tasks such as classification, performance management and pay. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-09).
