This position is part of the Security and Intelligent Documents, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.

Duties

Coordinates production activities for U.S. Passport manufacturing during assigned shift to ensure that production deadlines are met and commitments are fulfilled, and that optimum quality of products and efficiency of operations are maintained. Initiates and manages SID Passport Operations projects. Assesses employee and equipment productivity, and makes recommendations regarding manpower requirements, methods of improvement, acquisition of new equipment, etc. Participates in the development of strategic and operational plans; analyzes operations and assesses the impact on program requirements. Directly or indirectly performs the full range of supervisory functions including hiring, evaluating performance, approving leave, resolving grievances, and disciplining employees.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is Required
  • Selectee must pass preemployment requirements prior to appointment
  • Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service
  • Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period
  • Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance is required.
  • Selectee must undergo a background investigation for a Top Secret background investigation is required.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Printing Officer, PG -1654-14, you must meet the following requirements: To qualify for the Printing Officer, PG-14, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-13 grade level in the Federal Service that includes: Providing continuous oversight and guidance through subordinates on all aspects of printing, production, and employee matters. Developing strategic and operational plans to adapt to changing technology and priorities. Making decisions related to manpower, equipment, and improvements within a production environment, and Coordinating, planning, and interacting with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure manufacturing and production deadlines are met. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (04/25/2024) to be considered.

Education

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
