This position is part of the Plant Operations, Government Publishing Office in Washington,
District of Columbia.
Duties
Reviews and evaluates logistical and systemic requirements, involving new equipment and/or software requirements.
Recommends long-range plans regarding future requirements consistent with the needs of the Press and Binding Divisions.
Analyzes and interprets the financial status of projects and initiatives.
Highlights deviations from management plans, identifies financial trends which may have adverse financial effects, makes current and long-term projections, and analyzes costs of projects to assist in decision-making.
Reviews and evaluates existing production processes to determine appropriateness for new and highly complex printing and binding systems and automated technologies.
Exercises full supervisory responsibility over the Press and Binding Divisions.
Requirements
- You must be a current Career or Career Conditional GPO employee to apply.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Ttrust.
- Confidential Financial Disclosure Report may be required.
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period.
- TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
- Selectee must successfully pass pre-employment requirements prior to appointment.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Printing Officer, PG - 1654 - 15 , you must meet the following requirements:
To qualify for the Printing Officer PG-1654-15, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-14 grade level or higher in the Federal Service that includes: Experience managing operations through subordinate supervisors; developing strategic and operational plans to adapt to changing technology and priorities; and making decisions related to manpower, equipment, and improvements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (11/27/2023) to be considered.
Education
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used or this grade level.
