This position is part of the Customer Services, Government Publishing Office in Washington,
District of Columbia.
Duties
The Manager of Print Support Services leads multiple teams / offices which are responsible for timely and effective management that support customer agencies printing and procurement requirements.
Ensures that all work contracted is in conformance with established regulations and produced in a timely manner.
Devises and implements business development strategies;
Performs supervisory personnel management functions, e.g. approving leave, performance evaluations, grievances and other administrative and technical management of work;
Participates in external and internal presentations, conferences, and events.
Responsible for the overall operation of assigned teams including customer liaison and work force efficiency/effectiveness.
Timely and effective management that support customer agencies' printing and procurement needs;
Requirements
- You must be a current Career or Career Conditional GPO employee to apply.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period.
- TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
- Confidential Financial Disclosure Report may be required.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Supervisory Printing Services Specialist, PG - 1654 - 14 , you must meet the following requirements:
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have at least 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level PG-13 in order to qualify for this position.
Specialized experience includes at least 3 of the 4 following duties:: 1) experience performing personnel management functions, e.g. approving leave, performance evaluations, grievances and other administrative and technical management of work; 2) Assessing manpower, equipment, and productivity within a division/office; 3) Developing strategic and operational plans to adapt to changing technology and priorities; and 4) Preparing special or recurring reports and studies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used or this grade level.
