Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Special Assistant, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Performing a composite of complex administrative and technical duties auxiliary to the work of the Director/Deputy Director and to the entire organization. Analyzing, evaluating, and administering a variety of activities impacting behavioral health programs and projects. Leading, conducting, or participating in complex management studies and projects. Serving as liaison and coordinating the preparation of behavioral health program documents, proposals, reports, etc. for the Director on policy and program matters that are either cross- organizational responsibilities or do not fall within the functional province of any one Center component.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of the following: Providing advice to management on a variety of complex administrative or technical duties. Providing advice on policy and program matters relating to one or more mental and substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery services. Developing reports and/or briefings on issues related to behavioral health policy and functions. Evaluating and/or analyzing data of mental and substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery services. Documenting experience: IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
