About the Position: Serves as a Supply Technician in a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) or dental clinic within the Defense Health Agency (DHA). Performs a variety of supply functions.
Duties
Performs a variety of supply management duties to support the requisition, receipt, storage, issue, replenishment, inventory and control of supplies standard medical and non-medical (stocked and non-stocked) items.
Reviews status of actions, changes in requirements, reconcile due outs, and expedites delivery of urgently required items through correspondence and telephone calls.
Uses automated computer supply system software and manual procedures to perform daily dental supply ordering transactions to include Prime Vendor supplies and to order office supplies.
Reviews, reconciles and verifies the monthly account statement against the accountable documents retained for each transaction.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Required to perform approximately 5% TDY/travel.
- Required to obtain necessary immunizations (i.e., Hepatitis B, annual influenza) unless exempted by a physician.
- Required to lift approximately 40 pounds.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) processing receipts, issues and turn-ins; 2) performing inventory procedures; AND 3) performing daily supply ordering transactions utilizing automation software programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
