You will serve as a PROGRAM SUPPORT ASSISTANT in the SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION of UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.
Duties
You will serve as the assistant program coordinator for a pediatric residency and 5 pediatric fellowship training programs.
You will prepare Officer Evaluation Report (OER)/ Fitness Report (FITREP) support and evaluation forms for all residents.
You will provide administrative support to physicians in training at the resident, fellow, and senior medical student levels, as well as program faculty.
You will assist the primary program coordinator and team lead with maintaining and updating all residency training files for both current and past residency and fellowship graduates of the programs.
You will provide assistance with publishing and updating all residency and fellowship manuals on a yearly basis, to include the Pediatric House Staff Handbooks, resident survival manual, and continuity clinic curricula.
You will prepare all military travel paperwork for resident and fellow travel outside of the training program.
You will coordinate and schedule all clinical rotations for senior medical students performing rotations on the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) pediatric clinical services.
You will receive visitors and answer phone calls as necessary.
You will review outgoing correspondence for appropriate format.
You will utilize Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Front Page to prepare a variety of documents and correspondence.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing administrative support duties to include preparing and editing correspondence, maintain office files/records, and assist with travel arrangements for the department.

Successfully completed one full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
