Duties
Serves as the Expeditionary Support Organization Director responsible for monitoring DFAS support for the theater and serves as the focal point for responding to new issues and requirements or resolving problems.
Participates in resource management planning, policy and decision-making sessions regarding legislative changes, technological improvements, and changes in policies and procedures.
Coordinates with deployed forces to ensure theater financial managers are equipped with mission critical financial data to effectively perform their missions.
Monitors work, identifies and resolves problems, assesses overall effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
Assures that internal controls are developed, maintained, and evaluated in accordance with DoD, DFAS and other Federal statutes and regulations.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-13) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as providing expert-level financial management consulting services, management advice, and assistance to supported customers in the application of financial management theories, concepts, principles and standards and resolution of the most complex issues related to operational finance work.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-13 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Education
There is no substitution of education for the specialized experience requirement at the GS-14 grade level.
