This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA JOINT STAFF SUPPORT CENTER.

Duties

Develops, interprets, plans and applies policy, process, procedure and strategy in the delivery of multi-discipline IT services required to achieve data and system integration/interoperability. Provides expert technical guidance, interpretation, and implementation of applicable information security policies, processes, and practices to ensure continued operational availability and integrity of applications, systems, networks, and data. Employs broad comprehensive knowledge of emerging technologies enterprise IT architecture, customer business processes, organizational plans, and resource requirements in accomplishment of assigned projects. Applies expert knowledge and skills to database design and management, and database administration concepts and principles, enterprise and organization data assets, policies, and standards, modeling, and standardization approaches and methodologies. Applies a comprehensive knowledge of systems integration, performance tuning, evaluation methods and procedures, and project management principles sufficient to maintain, plan and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment.

• This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
• This position requires a TS/SCI security clearance.
• This is a Drug Testing designated position.
• This is a Mission Essential position requiring varying work shifts and work shift rotations for mission support requirement of 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
• This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies. -Attention to Detail -Customer Service -Oral Communication -Problem Solving Qualifying Experience:To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software, evaluating and managing system hardware, developing and implementing systems diagnostics and maintenance, and knowledge of systems integration and project management. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-12 grade level.
