About the Position: The mission of the CCAD is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Pass on to other workers instructions received form supervisor and starts work (e.g., by assigning the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led). Check work in progress and when finished, checks for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and demonstrates proper work methods. Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays and overall work operations and problems (e.g., additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees). Serve as Working Leader of 3 or more employees in accomplishing nondestructive testing.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
  • A physical examination is required.
  • Must be certified and individually identified in activity license for receipt, storage, and use of radiographic equipment as established by code of Federal Regulations Title 10.
  • Incumbent will be periodically evaluated and certified by Plant and AMCCOM certification processes to assure continued overall technical competence and specific job excellence.
  • Employee is required to be certified per NAS 410 Level II in radiographic (RT), Ultrasonic (UT), Eddy Current (EC), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (PT)methods of "Non-Destructive" (NDT) inspection.

Selective Placement Factors: You MUST submit a copy of your license or certification with your application package or you will be rated ineligible. NDT Level II Certification (IAW NAS 410) in Ultrasonic (UT) testing is required. NDT Level II Certification (IAW NAS 410) in Eddy Current (EC) testing is required. NDT Level II Certification (IAW NAS 410) in Radiographic (RT) testing is required. NDT Level II Certification (IAW NAS 410) in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) is required. NDT Level II Certification (IAW NAS 410) in Florescent Penetrant Inspection (CPI) is required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to numerous hazardous conditions due to, handling or association with chemicals, and radiographic elements. Included are toxic and skin irritating chemicals, fire hazards, and injurious rays (x-ray, etc.). Most of the incumbent's work will be performed indoors in well-lighted, heated, and ventilated buildings.
