About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

This is a developmental position. Perform developmental assignments under closer than normal supervision. Assignments become progressively more difficult until full performance level is reached. Follow written instructions to accomplish task. Follow proper safety procedures to perform work that requires lifting, bending, and stooping. Assist in use computers to locate the technical data needed to accomplish work. Collaborate with others in various occupations to accomplish a goal.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
  • Must pass a pre-appointment physical examination and meet established requirements.

Ability To Follow Directions in a ShopAbility to Work as a Member of a TeamDexterity and SafetyReliability And DependabilityShop Aptitude and Interest PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work in this trade requires the worker to stand, stoop, and reach. The worker will frequently handle items weighing up to 10 pounds and often lift and carry assemblies weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance. Hoists, hand trucks, lifts, and other employees are available to assist when handling heavy or awkward items. Eye fatigue occurs from working under black light. The work is required to pass annual vision tests for acuity and color perception. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is clean, well lit, and well ventilated production shop areas. Wears safety shoes, glasses and other protective clothing as required. Exposed to solutions and generally oily parts which may cause dermatitis or allergic conditions. Wears protective clothing as working conditions may warrant. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of this position.
