About the Position:The mission of the CCAD is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Plan use of subordinate workers' equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Assigns work to employees and provide technical direction and/or assistance in accomplishing the work. Recommend solutions to coordination problems between work operation and other production and support organizations to include request for support services from line and/or staff operations. Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Set performance standards, and make formal appraisals of subordinates' work performance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a Tier 2 – Non-Sensitive, Moderate Risk (Public Trust) suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

The ability to perform common leading or supervising subordinates in performing NDT Level II inspection (IAW NAS 410) for Fluorescent Penetrant (PT), and Magnetic Particle (MT), Radiographic (RT), Eddy Current (ET), Ultrasonic (UT) inspections. Performing Level II inspections for the following five (5) inspections; Fluorescent Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT), Radiographic (RT), Eddy Current (ET), and Ultrasonic (UT) inspections - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Lead or SuperviseAbility To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentDexterity and SafetyKnowledge of MetalsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Efforts: Work involves standing, stooping, reaching, bending. Lifts assemblies weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance. Hoists, handling equipment and other workers are available for lifting heavy or awkward items. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside, usually in well lighted shop areas. Subject to skin irritations form solvents, grease and oil; and possible burns, scratches, cuts or abrasions, and injury from falls off work stands. Wears required protective clothing as conditions may warrant. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of the position.
