This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Protective Service, Atlanta, Georgia.
Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Administrative Support specialist coordinating all human resource related requests with FPS Headquarters (FPS HQ).
Duties performed:
Assisting regional managers in formatting job descriptions, advises on appropriate type of classification action to request, and track status of request to completion. Serves as point of contact for coordinating classification action request packages.
Assisting DHS FPS supervisors and managers in meeting and/or adhering to the performance management milestones.
Coordinating with staff in order to manage incoming/outgoing correspondence, records management, publications/forms management, administrative standard operating procedures, administrative internal controls, and organizational files management, etc.
Maintaining comprehensive database(s) to provide information used by senior staff or management in responding to a variety of FPS reports (i. e. annual self-inspection program reports, FOIA request, etc.).
Remaining abreast of projects in order to track suspense/deadlines, progress reports, and amend established internal administrative procedures which will increase the general flow of information and address bottlenecks in the administrative process.

GS-11 Qualifications
A. Specialized Experience: Applicant must demonstrate one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-9 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Monitoring HR related actions to keep management informed of statuses;
Using standard operating procedures to coordinate onboarding processes, formatting job descriptions, and/or track classification actions to ensure required forms and supporting documents are accurate; and
Evaluating program administrative policies, regulations and/or procedures to ensure compliance.

B. Have successfully completed three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or successfully completed a Ph.D.; or LL.M., if related, at an accredited college or university in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

C. Have less than one year of experience as described in A and less than 3 years of graduate level education as described in B. However, I have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that when combined, equals at least 100% of the total requirement. Note: Only graduate education in excess of the master's level [generally 36 semester hours] may be used in this calculation.

NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility.
