This position is located in Boise, ID. Information about Boise and the surrounding area can be found at here. This position serves at the BLM ID State Office serving as the Secretary for the State Director's Office or one of two Divisions' Offices.
We expect to fill three (3) vacancies at this time; however, additional positions may be filled from this announcement if they become available.
Duties
Serve as secretary and principle administrative support position to the office supervisor. Develop, implement, and recommend internal office administrative, information management, and clerical procedures and guidelines.
Respond to inquiries and administrative problems brought to the office supervisor by members of the staff, internal officials, private and public organizations, and external agencies and bureaus.
Receive all correspondence for the office supervisor. Exercise control over the office supervisor's appointments, with complete authority for commitments of time. Plan and arrange meetings and conferences.
Reply to mail not requiring the office supervisor's attention; route matters requiring action by others to the appropriate manager or supervisor; and follow-up to ensure that actions are completed.

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: screened correspondence for clarity, completeness, and grammatical and procedural correctness; maintained physical and electronic files, reports, data sheets, and materials; used automated equipment for word processing, file management, creating/compiling special reports, electronic mail, and other applications necessary for the support and management of office operations; and attended and recorded the minutes of executive level meetings.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
