Duties

You will serve as Maintenance Production Control Branch Chief in the Maintenance Division. You will be responsible for planning, directing, and managing the activities of a division charged with the maintenance, storage, documentation, and production control and supply functions in support for the Army Sustainment Command. You will coordinate and develop plans for expansion of activities, consolidation of functions, special projects, new functions or changes in currently assigned missions. You will direct, coordinate, and monitor Field Level and Sustainment Level maintenance support for all assigned equipment and materiel. You will review maintenance activity and readiness reports and compiles staff studies and evaluates operating procedures to discern problem areas and to develop and/or direct corrective measures.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position may require travel approximately 5%.
  • The position is designated as Mission Essential.
  • The position is needed to ensure facility operations in support of Continuity of Operations Programs (COOP) and/or performance of duties and completion of tasks that are mission essential functions of the organization.
  • This position is designated as a "Key" position. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impacting the organization to function effectively.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a state driver's license.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in logistics management operations, activities, and services to include equipment, property accountability, readiness reporting, coordination of the transfer/maintenance managing the implementation of logistics automation systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Maintenance Planning and ManagementOral CommunicationProgram/Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
