About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Joint Activities Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Conducts assistance visits with the Government SAP Security Officers (GSSOs) to supported unit GSSOs to ensure compliance with the SAP program procedure guidance and service regulations.
Initiates and prepares internal and external SOPs, policies, regulations, and supplements.
Serves as point of contact for receiving loss or compromise reports, reviewing completed investigation reports, and making recommendations for final disposition.
Manages multiple Security programs to include Information Security for Special Access Programs (SAPs).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI access for the duration of employment.
- A pre-employment/recurring comprehensive background investigation required includes/not limited to: references, employers, co-workers, personal associates, a review of your driving record, credit history, criminal history, and military service.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- Must be willing to submit to Counterintelligence Polygraph if required.
- This position is Deployable and may travel 30% or more to OCONUS locations. A physical is REQUIRED as a condition of employment prior to EOD and as needed, thereafter. Immunizations are required for the deployed location.
- May be subjected to short notice recall. Must reside within a 50-mile radius of duty location.
- This position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) 30 days or less travel to various locations approximately 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience is defined as experience with at least two of the following security disciplines: information, personnel, physical, industrial, and/or document control AND developing and/or implementing Security Policies and procedures for a Special Access Program (SAP) and/or Special Compartmental Information Facility (SCIF)/Special Access Program Facility (SAPF). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.
