About the Position: Services as a Security Specialist (Operations) for the Joint Activities located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Supervises Security Specialists over command and unit security programs, including compliance with IDS and various security systems.
Establishes program goals for the Enterprise Security and Access Control Program.
Serves as the electronic security SME in the design and construction meetings, ensuring compliance with security standards.
Develops plans and procedures for security and access control, inkling MEVA inspections and electronic security systems.
Coordinates with intelligence law enforcement to prepare and publish the Physical Security Plan for resource protection.
Oversees installation, testing and maintenance of security system components to ensure continuous operations.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (SCI) Security Clearance with Specialized Compartmented Information access.
- In accordance with change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, incumbent must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to the appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Will be required to return to duty within 60 minutes after receipt of notification.
- May be required to work overtime various hours, including weekends and holidays, with minimum notice.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) (CONUS/OCONUS) may be required 30% or more of the time.
- May be required to wear pager.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete counter-intelligence scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
- A pre-employment deployable physical is required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes administering and monitoring security system networks; Developing networked-based security access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems for restricted areas and facilities; maintaining computers operating systems by performing software reloads and system backups to support security operations; and troubleshooting and improving automated security systems by analyzing failures and recommending solutions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
