About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma is a diverse city nestled between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Tacoma is located on the shores of Commencement Bay, within pristine eyesight of Mount Rainier. World-class museums, hotels and theaters.
Duties
Prepare various reports for management tracking purposes.
Use automated data processing equipment to prepare in final form a variety of narrative and tabular materials such as correspondence, reports, charts, statistical tables, manuals, technical papers, staff studies and messages.
Assist in performing tasks involving budget planning and execution.
Accomplish input to the automated Time and Leave System for personnel assigned to the organization.
Provides advice on administrative policy matters.
Receives and screens visitors and incoming phone calls.
Reads and screen all incoming correspondence.
Maintain supervisors' calendar, schedules appointments and meetings.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require vaccinations and immunizations.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
- This position is considered mission essential. Should the command shut down the installation, this position be required to still report to work.
- This position may be designated as an inclement weather position. Incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severed weather conditions.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes providing administrative and clerical support such as screening and directing telephone calls and visitors, preparing a variety of reports, composing and/or editing data, processing and tracking various correspondence through automated systems and using a variety of software programs to create database files, retrieve reports and correspondences.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
