About the Position: This position is located Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA

Duties

Maintain supervisors' calendar, schedules appointments and meetings. Read and screen all incoming correspondence. Receive and screen visitors and incoming phone calls. Provide advice on administrative policy matters. Accomplish input to the automated Time and Leave System for personnel assigned to the organization. Assist in performing tasks involving budget planning and execution. Use automated data processing equipment to prepare in final form a variety of narrative and tabular materials such as correspondence, reports, charts, statistical tables, manuals, technical papers, staff studies and messages.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operation.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalComputer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
