About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio.

Duties

As Systems Administrator (SA) and/or Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) manages a wide variety of operating systems, applications, and equipment. Serves as Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), including administering and tracking training, ensuring new users are properly trained and authorized to access the network, and taking appropriate measures in the event of a security violation. Manages the Information Assurance Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA) program, establishing program goals and then providing oversight, assistance, and follow-up action to ensure compliance and the achievement of goals. Serves as a point of contact providing day-to-day administrative and technical direction in disseminating guidance, coordinating requirements, and reporting status. Provides customer assistance and/or training for assigned systems to both current and new users. Supports design change implementations from higher headquarters and the Network Enterprise Center (NEC), ensuring lateral and higher headquarters data interchange requirements fulfillment. Represents DPW at conferences or with other agencies to review and coordinate proposed development or revision of engineering systems.
