About the Position: Fort Liberty is known as the "Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces." It is a culturally diverse area with both rural and city populations and is co-located at Fayetteville, NC. It is centrally located just hours away from the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. Fayetteville Regional Airport is located 12 miles outside of Fort Liberty's gates and Raleigh-Durham International Airport is 70 miles away.
Duties
Perform Communications Security (COMSEC) actions in support of the Information Assurance (IA) /Information Systems Security (ISS) Program.
Develop long-range plans for the development and improvement of all Information Assurance /Information Systems Security ( IA/ISS) programs, making sure that plans meet mission requirements and enhance technological advances.
Analyze communication security system documents to identify changes in capabilities or requirements.
Provide detailed written and oral briefings of integration activities based upon general mission guidance.
Develop short and long-range plans, to include life-cycle management, for the command Communication Security (COMSEC) program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance/SCI information.
- Incumbent must submit to random drug testing.
- This position requires up to 50% TDY. Travel may be required on short notice. Travel is by commercial carrier or government conveyance, to include military aircraft.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in 1) Experience with establishing and implementing all Information Assurance and Information System Security Programs for the installation and all information infrastructures; 2) Experience in developing and administering the Communication Security (COMSEC) program; and 3) Experience in developing Communication Security (COMSEC) Policies for implementation by staff and subordinate elements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
