About the Position: Serves as a Security Specialist (Operations) for the Joint Activities Command at Fort Liberty, NC.
This is an obligated TERM NTE 3 years position.
Duties
Serve as a Physical Security Technical Expert of the Security Support Division within a Specialized Security Assignment.
Plan, develop, troubleshoots and implement new, modified, and/or upgraded programs and systems that are vital to the organization's mission.
Assist in establishing and executing the program goals and objectives of the Enterprise for Security and Access Control Program.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI access for the duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment urinalysis screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position is Deployable and may travel 30% or more to OCONUS locations.
- A physical is REQUIRED as a condition of employment prior to EOD and as needed, thereafter.
- Immunizations are required for the deployed location.
- This position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) 30 days or less travel to various locations approximately 30% of the time.
- May be required to work uncommon tour of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shift which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- May be subjected to short notice recall. Must reside within 50-mile radius of duty location.
- Must be willing to submit to Counterintelligence Polygraph if required.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- Position subject to one year trial period unless previously completed.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes operation of technical security systems that includes electronic security such as Intrusion Detection (IDS) and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV); performing security of restricted areas and facilities and access control to protect classified information; and maintenance and upkeep of technical security systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
