You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the FLEET READINESS DIVISION, FLEET READINESS PORTFOLIO of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER Port Hueneme Division, located in Port Hueneme, CA.

Duties

You will staff the AegisTT and NSWC PHD Combat Systems 24/7 Watch, after normal working hours (nights and weekends). You will coordinate technical and logistical services and respond to requests made through the AegisTT and NSWC PHD Combat System 24/7 Watch. You will provide adequate definition of problems and assessment on several alternatives prior to determining a course of action. You will review and report on problems reported through the AegisTT and NSWC PHD Combat Systems watch, Naval Messages, Casualty Reports, and develop evaluations and resolutions. You will produce and distribute the 0200 AegisTT Daily 24/7 Report and the 1600 Ship Self Defense Report. You will maintain situational awareness of ship schedules and operational missions. You will serve as project leader, independently planning, organizing, directing and coordinating project personnel in the evaluation and analysis of AEGIS Combat System performance and operational capability.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying electronic theory or electronics engineering methods and principles to analyze and diagnose faults in the operational configuration of Naval electronic combat systems and equipment for an organization.
