You will serve as a Technician in the Interior Communications/Standard Module Alarm Switchboard Branch of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.

Duties

You will serve as the Technician Team Lead responsible for providing leadership in the areas of coordination, project planning, budget execution and overall management of all IC/SM Alarm Switchboards tasks and projects. You will serve as the principle point of contact and provide total Engineering Life Cycle support for the various Switchboard configurations on all types of surface ships. You will provide leadership in the areas of employee development, coordination, project planning, budget execution and overall management of all tasks. You will work directly with the Customer Advocate, Branch Manager, Logistics Lead, Division Systems Engineer and Supportability Manager, Sponsor NAVSEA 05H5, other Program Acquisition Resource Managers and the Engineering teams. You will define systems supportability requirements, coordinate engineering tasks, review and track logistics products produced contract support, and evaluate proposed engineering and design changes. You will communicate orally to diverse audiences from various activities at multiple levels; prepare formal reports, studies, and decision papers.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical services and support in accomplishment of technical efforts (e.g., coordination, test and evaluation, budget execution; quality management, assessment, analysis, evaluation, recommendations) impacting the execution or configuration of naval alarm switchboard systems.
