The primary purpose of this position is to Provides oversight and Governance of Information Technology (IT) data centers and data-centric network infrastructures. As MAJCOM Records Officer provides oversight and guidance to all ninety (90) Air National Guard (ANG) locations.

Duties

Serves as the Data Center Infrastructure Manager for ANG. Responsible for governing the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) data center optimization targets for ANG. Serves as the MAJCOM Program Manager for the ANG and AF Records Officer Liaison Program Manager for the ANG Wings and direct liaison with the Air Force Records Officer and AFSPC/CYSS. MAJCOM Knowledge Manager Publications and Forms Manager for ANG Wings, Oversees publications and forms processing and management for ANG Wings. MAJCOM Industry Management Officer, Serve as Industry Management officer IAW governing policies. Receives and processes vendor requests for site visits to ANGRC.

  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
  • Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Category II /Type 5 (Code O)
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Position requires 8140/8570 IAT Level II / IAM Level I certification.
  • Position may perform other related duties as assigned.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Employee may be required to work overtime.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210 (Alternate A). https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/2200/information-technology-it-management-series-2210-alternative-a/ Experience: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11 (or equivalent in other pay systems) which includes Ability to analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations on major aspects of a project such as IT platform, current policies, compliance mandates, compliance requirements, effect on ANG, reporting, and implementation. Extensive knowledge of complex systems development life cycles including systems documentation, design development, configuration management, cost analysis, data administration, certification, systems integration, and testing. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Commanding knowledge of cloud-based knowledge management technologies and concepts related to security, governance, procurement, and administration. Detailed knowledge of laws, policies, procedures, or governance relevant to cybersecurity for critical infrastructures. Extensive knowledge of new and emerging information technology (IT) and cybersecurity technologies. In-depth knowledge of parallel and distributed computing concepts. Commanding knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles used to manage risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information or data. Skill in communicating with all levels of management (e.g. interpersonal skills, approachability, effective listening skills, appropriate use of style and language for the audience). PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
