You will serve as a Firefighter (BLS/Hazmat Tech) of NAS KINGSVILLE TX.

Duties

You will administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillation (AED) for a patient. You will relay patient information with a receiving facility (e.g., hospital, aid unit) using communication equipment. You will drive a firefighting vehicle (e.g., pumper, aerial ladder truck, rescue truck, brush truck, quick-attack vehicle, airport rescue fire fighting vehicle) to the scene of a fire.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: : 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; 5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles; 6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures; and 7) Performing work at airfields handling aircraft carrying large volumes of fuel, sometimes nuclear weapons or highly flammable or explosive cargo. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I, II, HAZMAT Technician, Driver-Operator Pumper, Driver-Operator Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting, Airport Firefighter, CPR (BLS for Health Care Providers). These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Also requires National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT). The following certification, if not already held, must be obtained within 12 months of hire as mandatory condition of position: Driver Operator Aerial and Confined Space Rescue.
