You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the RANGES/TRGTS OPS/INSTRMNTN & LABS GROUP, CHINA LAKE RANGES DEPT, RANGE SUPPORT DIV, SEC & SYS INTGRTY BR of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will perform needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions. You will ensure the integration of all systems components; e.g., procedures, databases, policies, software, and hardware in accordance with cyber security requirements and policies. You will develop new work methods, standards, and practices designed to significantly improve the safety, quality, reliability, predictability, reusability, and cost performance of applications software systems. You will troubleshoot hardware/software interface and interoperability problems and work with Range software developers on the testing and integration of government software products.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final top secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 451, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

DS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Providing authoritative recommendations for future hardware/software implementations and related process improvements; 2) Demonstrating experience with scheduling, planning, and performing system upgrades, to include the transition from design, test, production, and documentation environments; 3) Implementing and enforcing network usage policies and procedures. DS-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Providing recommendations for future hardware and software implementations and related process improvements; 2) Assisting to schedule, plan, and/or perform system upgrades, which may include the transition from design, test, production, and documentation environments; 3) Implementing network usage policies and procedures. Your experience must also reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
