The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a member of the 78th Air Base Wing (ABW) Commander's Action Group (CAG).
Duties
Working with team members, contractors, and with POCs throughout the Air Logistics Center, incumbent plans, develops, organizes, and implements the wing activities.
Conducts special projects and studies as assigned by the Wing Commander.
Monitors overall management effectiveness in the Wing, exercising independent judgement in identifying and isolating unresolved or potential deficiencies and in developing proposals for corrective or preventative actions for the Wing Commander's approval.
Provides expertise and continuity, advising the Wing Commander on background, alternatives, costs and impacts.

- Positions requires broad executive level management and administrative experience with a thorough knowledge of WR-ALC functions and their interrelationships with Wing support activities.
- The incumbent must advise and assist the Director of Staff or Wing Commander with a very wide variety of management and administrative activities.
- The individual must exercise a high degree of initiative, integrity, and independent judgement; Display the utmost tact and diplomacy while coordinating matters with management officials
- Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours. Is subject to recall during non duty hours to handle matters of major importance.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- This is a Term position NTE 01 Jun 2026; the individual selected for this position may be extended without further competition.
- Current Federal civilian employees may apply for this position using “Reinstatement” eligibility and if selected, a break in service of at least 3 calendar days may be required prior to appointment to this position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the administration of Wing programs. Expert knowledge of principles, practices, techniques, and procedures for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness at Warner Robins Air Logistics Center; working knowledge of statistical techniques and of the operations of a Wing and an ALC. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Comprehensive knowledge of Wing principles, practices, techniques, and procedures; Must have working knowledge of the operations of an ALC.
Ability to interfere with a wide range of personnel with tact, courtesy, diplomacy, and professionalism; Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations to meet mission objectives within available resources.
Knowledge of statistical techniques, which facilitates the effective preparation and interpretation of charts, graphs, reports, etc.
Ability to analyze facts, draw conclusions, and devise practical and appropriate solutions to problems/issues; Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, to include the ability to make formal presentations (public speaking)
Knowledge of Wing functions, activities, policies and initiatives
Knowledge of Air Force and command policy and regulations relative to Protocol???????
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
