About the Position: The incumbent will provide SDDC G4 with objective information for managing logistics maintenance actions, assisting in procurement, and overseeing command requirements. Supports subordinates in these tasks.
Duties
Direct SDDC maintenance management policy and procedures.
Represent the staff level function at component meetings and conferences to address logistics management planning and problem resolution.
Provides logistical staff direction command wide for the supply management and equipment fielding program.
Conducts on site visits to subordinate activities for command logistics inspections, command logistics reviews and equipment to evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of operations.
Collect, analyze, and evaluate maintenance data for SDDC G4 Logistics Division requirements and procurements.
Provide oversight for HQ SDDC execution of equipment policies and procedures.
Perform supervisory duties, including planning work schedules and evaluating employee performance.
Develop and execute corrective action plans for departmental weaknesses.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Roles and Responsibilities Requiring Activity (RA) COR Management and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
- If appointed as a COR, the employee is required to complete all mandatory and refresher courses within required timeframes, as stated in the Command Policy Memorandum – Policy and Standards for Contracting Officer’s Representative, in the enclosure:
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- Incumbent may be required to travel up to 25% to perform duties/attend training.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.

To Qualify for the GS-13:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Analyzing procedures to implement equipment management, supply management, and/or equipment maintenance policies and procedures (2) Recommending various methods and techniques to resolve logistical and supply problems and (3) Developing policies, regulations and/or procedures for cost reduction initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of activity operation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
