About the Position: This IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Security) position is located at US Army Operational Test Command, G6 Cybersecurity Division, with a duty location of Fort Cavazos, TX.

Duties
Serves as an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for the U.S. Army Operational Test Command (USAOTC).
As USAOTC’s primary action officer for information security, the incumbent develops, promulgates, and monitors compliance with policies, methods and procedures pertaining to the Cybersecurity Program for Automated Information Systems (AIS).
Assignments are executed based primarily on knowledge of advanced technical capabilities for information systems, computing and processing techniques, and current and future technology trends.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is subject to applicant testing and random drug testing in accordance with DA guidelines.
- This position has overnight travel away from the duty station or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This position may be a "Mission-Critical Emergency Employee" for Continuity of Government Operations (COOP); meaning that the incumbent may/can be required to report for CONUS related duty during an emergency at an offsite location.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification per DoD directive 8570.1-M and AR 25-2 within six months of entrance on duty.
- A two-year trial/probationary period may be required.

In addition to meeting the basic educational requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing Cybersecurity policies; AND 2) Advising management on cybersecurity programs; AND 3) Developing Cybersecurity systems.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required specialized experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using specialized experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
