This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Office of Security. As an Operations Security Specialist (Operations Security Program Manager), you will develop long-range program plans, goals, objectives and milestones to evaluate the effectiveness of the OPSEC program throughout the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The position is responsible for coordinating the planning and development of the OPSEC Program policies, procedures, and overall program goals.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As an Operations Security Specialist (Operations Security Program Manager), you will:
Develop and implement BEP-wide policies, standards and procedures for administration and management of nationwide programs including guidance on the proper handling, protection, and release of sensitive and critical information to U.S. Government and State and Local officials.
Serve as the BEP representative for Inter and Intra-agency working groups, councils, committees, and other governmental and industrial associations, focusing on nationwide standards and policies for protecting critical information and minimizing risk.
Advise top level BEP officials and subject matter managers on developments and advances in the various security programs.
Analyze program and operation risks, recommend mitigation action, and issue reports.
Develop a variety of complex written products regarding Department of Treasury and BEP security programs and operations for dissemination to appropriate officials throughout BEP.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-12 is one year (52 weeks) of experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
Assisting with applying security policies, procedures, theories, and principles to an Operations Security (OPSEC) program; AND
Establishing and maintaining partnerships and communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding an OPSEC program; AND
Assisting in the preparation of oral briefings to all levels of leadership.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
