You will serve as a Posture Manager in the Strategy & Policy Division, Strategic Planning and Policy Directorate (J5), Headquarters, United States Indo-Pacific Command (HQUSINDOPACOM).
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
Duties
You will generate written direction and guidelines interpreting and applying theater and national planning guidance for USINDOPACOM headquarters and component commands.
You will provide strategic and operational-level perspective, based on national guidance from a variety of sources.
You will develop innovative strategies to help address local concerns.
You will present complex information on policy and posture questions to policy makers and foreign or domestic political and military officials.
You will serve as an expert representative of USINDOPACOM by actively participating at national and International conferences and meetings.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing strategic appraisal, analysis, and recommendations pertaining to actions, operations, and investments (OAI) related to theaters posture (forces, footprints, agreements) planning; 2) Guiding the proper interpretation of policies and directives based on broad knowledge of command and service component posture challenges and objectives, planning processes, and management functions in order to provide accurate and relevant information and recommendations; 3) Readjusting and adjusting posture plans to meet evolving threats, operational concepts, and military, political, and budgetary environments; 4) Achieving posture projects and initiatives with the ability to understand military services' requirements, budgets, schedules, and processes; 5) Monitoring and reporting on the progress toward accomplishment of analytical and planning methodologies internal and external to the headquarters.
