This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, located in Rockville, Maryland.

Duties

Serves as the resident technical medical expert for vaccines (development, regulatory approval, production, post-marketing safety surveillance, distribution and public uptake) and immunization practices for the national Vaccine Program. Provides advice and assistance to senior agency personnel, external and internal officials, governmental, nonprofit, and private agencies, as appropriate. Provide authoritative technical review and input to primary National Vaccine Program activities, including, but not limited to, policy decisions impacting the planning and conduct of federal immunization activities, development and review of the Vaccines National strategic Plan, and engagement with the National Vaccine Advisory Committee.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: GS-15: Do you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service that performing (4) of the (5) Specialized Experience duties listed: Managing vaccine and immunization activities for a medical or healthcare program; Creating policies that directly impact patient care services; Providing medical and scientific consultation for a vaccine and immunization program; Serving as a technical authority for vaccine matters, advancements, market trends, safety concerns, and/or immunization practices; Developing guidance documents for vaccines and immunization activities.
