Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Intelligence, National Border Security Intelligence Watch Directorate (NBSIW), Joint Processing Exploitation & Dissemination Operations Center Division, located in Washington, D.C.

Duties

In this Intelligence Operations Specialist position you will represents the collective intelligence capabilities and expertise across the agency that enable coordinated and consistent operations under a unified intelligence framework when addressing current and emerging border security issues and threats. This position starts at a salary of $117,962.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $153,354.00 (GS-13, Step 10). Major Duties Include, but not limited to: Ensuring analysis, of National and commercial collection platforms, is focused on Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIR) and Standing Information Needs (SIN) to implement risk informed intelligence driven operations against the highest threats. Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) of remotely sensed data such as Hyper/Multi-Spectral Imagery (HSI/MSI), Thermal/Infrared Imagery, Electro-Optical Imagery, Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR), and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR). Exploiting synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data and providing annotated products for Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI), Dismount Moving Target Indicator (DMTI) and spot imagery. Providing guidance on imagery techniques and database management methodologies used in imagery analysis and production. Presenting imagery intelligence positions within the intelligence, planning, and operational communities. Performing tasks related to electro-optical, infra-red, and SAR systems, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities and limitations, and analytic lead for collection and collection management functions with primary interface with the collection managers.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Communicating analytical assessments clearly and succinctly both written and orally and presenting analysis products and ideas in an operational environment. Managing, conducting, and coordinating imagery research and analysis of current and historical imagery Establishing and maintaining liaison with counterparts in other government agencies. Presenting imagery intelligence positions within the intelligence, planning, and operational communities.
