About the Position: This position supports the mission of Defense Health Agency AD Director of Staff (AD DS) Financial Operations (J-8) Facilities Enterprise and is located in San Antonio, TX.

Duties
Conducts studies of a highly sensitive nature to solve specific problems in areas of space utilization, allocation, distribution and modification
Applies space management principles to resolve key problems of planned space programs.
Conduct cost negotiations with vendors or contractors.
Considers what labor personnel and equipment are needed within budget.
Responsible for preparation of layouts and floor plans.
Design floor plans and layouts for maximum space utilization.
Communicate with senior level officials to resolve unique or controversial space management/utilization problems
Represent the agency in meetings and negotiations with other agencies
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting studies to solve problems in areas of space utilization or square footage requirements, on-going repairs, or modifications to meet usage needs. Developing floor plans and layouts. Prepares cost estimates or budgets for construction projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
