Duties
Serves as the Chief of Risk Management in the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Risk Management Branch (RMB).
Responsible for all aspects of Collateral, SCI, and SAP security management throughout the organization.
Coordinates with various Security Operations Groups regarding security measures for the classification, safeguarding, transmission, declassification, and destruction of classified information.
Prepares and coordinates reports of security threats and incidents pertaining to classified information.
Develops and identifies specific countermeasures to mitigate damage and the recurrence of security issues.
Performs supervisory duties such as: Develop performance standards, evaluates employee's performance, and plans work operations, resource and equipment needs, training needs, and career development.
Coordinates and monitors Executive Branch programs to ensure compliance with Executive Orders, Federal Laws, National Security Directives, Defense Directives, Director of National Intelligence Directives, and Military Department Regulations.

- This position and any future selections from this announcement may be used to fill various shifts located within DLA J3 Alexandria, VA.
- You will be a Mission Essential employee. This requires you to work during an emergency to ensure continuation of essential functions. You may be required to work at the designated duty location, a telework site, or an alternate location/facility.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain licenses and/or certifications required by the installation, federal, state, and local laws.
- Required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to SCI and Special Access Programs (SAPs); including submitting to background checks as a condition of employment and/or continued access to Special Access Programs.
- This is a special sensitive position which will require the incumbent to be the subject of a Special Background Investigation conducted IAW DoD Directive 5210.55.
- Position also requires access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and may be subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph IAW DoD Directive 5210.48.
- This position requires a DoD Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC). See Addtl Info.
Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Security Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Supports security and emergency preparedness programs with responsibility to develop and implement security guidance for the protection of facilities and information.
Exercises initiative in the planning, creating, managing, and implementing of personnel, information, industrial, and operations security, intelligence support, and counterintelligence programs, and subsequently reviews, monitors, and enforces these programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
