Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an Executive Assistant, you will use your knowledge of and experience with principles, concepts, policies, and objectives applicable to a program or administrative area to optimize business results and customer experience by: Overseeing and making decisions on the handling and the priority of issues, documents, and other materials on behalf of an organization. Reviewing and analyzing position papers and special project reports to determine adequacy, validity, and consistency of content in relation to management and program objectives. Working with program staff to develop and prepare background and informational materials, including briefing materials, summary reports, speeches, and articles for use when explaining an organization's position and objectives. Responding to inquiries by members of the staff and officials of an organization, state and local governments, other Federal agencies, and Congressional staff. Managing the calendars of Senior Executives, scheduling, making final commitments for appointments, conferences, or attendance at official functions. Coordinating travel and setting the initial agenda for the travel, scheduling flights, ground transportation and lodging. Handling travel vouchers upon official travel. Duties as shown are at the full performance level (FPL) of the GS-13. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the FPL.

Requirements

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: To qualify for the GS-12: Your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing at least two (2) of thefollowing: Managing calendars and coordinating travel plans for senior leadership. Reviewing, drafting, or editing documents from staff to ensure timeliness and quality of work products. Coordinating administrative tasks and management issues to ensure leadership objectives are met. To qualify for the GS-13: Your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing at least three (3) of the following: Managing calendars and coordinating travel plans for senior leadership. Conducting research in regards to problems, proposals or matters within an office to increase the efficiency of the decision-making process of the organization. Preparing and finalizing documents from staff to ensure timeliness and quality of work products. Coordinating and reviewing critical outgoing work products and presentations to ensure that issues are covered appropriately, format is correct, and that content is consistent organization policies. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
