This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCFO), Travel and Events Division. Serves as a Business Manager (BM), performing all aspects of travel and event requirements for one of the following area: White House Office (WHO), Office of the Vice President (OVP), or Components.
Duties
As a Financial Management Specialist, GS-0501-13, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Delivers travel and event services to the assigned office/component and staff with specific and focused support for their assigned area.
Contracts, authorizes, tracks, documents, and reports to EOP management.
Provides financial reports in accordance with the interests of the General Services Administration, Congress and the Government Accountability Office on the full disclosure of travel.
Responsible for all mixed travel for assigned areas.
Reviews and oversees the evaluation of bids and/or offers for responsiveness to the particular solicitation and ability to perform the contract requirement.
Oversees and performs industry analysis and market research to identify sources for selection with regards to events.

- Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).

- The agency requires 30 days on site before being eligible to participate in the telework program.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a COR certification in 3 months.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you must meet the following minimum qualification requirements:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates the following: 1-Familiarity in the application of Federal travel, budget and accounting systems, policies and practices and related regulations and procedural guidelines; 2-Modifying and adapting accounting and analytical techniques to solve a variety of accounting problems; and 3-Preparing and Presenting findings and recommendations in a public setting.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
