You will serve as a ASSISTANT CONSTRUCTION MANAGER in the Naval Architecture & Engineering Division of CARDEROCK DIV NS.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $153,354.)
Duties
You will oversee shipbuilder performance and trends including material performance, structures, auxiliary and mechanical system performance, mission systems, propulsion and hydrodynamic systems, and shock and signatures performance.
You will oversee shipyard construction processes and material procurement processes.
You will develop metrics as necessary to analyze and adequately track shipbuilder progress.
You will provide input on courses of action regarding emergent technical issues and discussions between contractors to resolve incompatibilities and ensure alignment of the way-forward plan.
You will identify and manage risks and develop mitigation plans for projects and tasks under their cognizance.
You will coordinate and liaise with the other components of PMS 450, EB, HII-NNS, the Supervisors of Shipbuilding, and other Navy organizations involved in the design, construction, and testing of VIRGINIA Class submarines.
You will communicate status for areas under their cognizance including the development and oral delivery of briefings for senior NAVSEA leadership and the development of supporting documentation (i.e. briefing material).

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11/12 grade level) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing engineering performance or procedures by providing analysis, input or developing metrics to improve processes for an organization.
