Duties

You will help support the day- to-day activities associated with providing Marine Corps desktop IT enterprise services support to the end-users within TECOM. You will evaluate and assesses customer support requirements and supports delivery of solutions that include new IT tools and techniques promulgated by higher headquarters. You will serve as an advisor and consultant on all Customer Support policies, procedures, plans and reporting measures used to provision end-user IT services supporting Information Systems, data and networks. You will develop and implement regional and enterprise processes to ensure appropriate customer IT service levels are maintained. You will participate in strategic network planning, steady state operations planning and development of contingency operation plans. You will provide service and configuration management for over 10,500 unclassified MCEN computers and associated services (Aircards, Personal Electronic Devices, additional software, email/file storage) You will perform hardware/software configuration inventory and asset management of computers, associated peripherals, and applications. You will create hardware refresh configurations and task order modifications for current eligible seats due for lifecycle replacement TECOM enterprise wide.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Employee shall obtain and maintain the proper IA certification for the IA position as required in the DOD 8570.01-M.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 411 level 02 within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. GS-11 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in providing end-user IT services, to include researching and evaluating new customer service management systems; recommending new IT services and service management principles to enhance the effectiveness of the customer support program; overseeing implementation of new systems and services; and developing training guides for customer support employees. GS-09 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing professional customer service and technical assistance to clients, Identifying and resolving a wide variety of computer hardware and software malfunctions AND logging and maintaining trouble calls. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
