This is a Planned Management Action open to Current Civilian Employees of the Organization (Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico Logistics Readiness) with Career or Career Conditional Status within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Army employees with competitive status. This is a developmental position.

Duties

Perform all aspects of technical management work; inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization, related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Maintain current knowledge base and answers questions of other workers on policies, procedures, written instructions, standard operating procedures. Ensure that needed plans, Standard Operating Procedures, material, Personal Protective Equipment, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations. Answer workers questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives (e.g., technical orders); obtains needed information or decisions from the supervisor on problems that come up during the work.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) investigation.
  • This position may require the incumbent to travel (TDY) up to 20% of the time.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work occasional overtime.
  • This position requires the employee to obtain the COR certification within 12 months and maintain thereafter.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Fork-lift operator license to support performance of the duties.
  • This position requires the incumbent to serve a one-year probationary period.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience (GS-06):One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level which includes: 1) Utilizing supply policies, regulations, procedures, and/or instructions to perform supply or warehouse functions; 2) Conducting supply related inventories; and 3) Operating material handling equipment to load, unload, and/or move equipment and/or supplies. Specialized Experience (GS-07):One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level which includes: 1) Utilizing supply policies, regulations, procedures, and/or instructions for supply or warehouse management; 2) Conducting various types of supply related inventories; 3) Performing fuel support related activities for an organization such as issuing fuel, maintaining fuel or other related files, or assisting in preparing fuel reports; and 4) Operating material handling equipment to load, unload, and/or move equipment and/or supplies. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
