About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, in Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico.
Duties
Orders operational rations through automated systems.
Maintains subsistence supply inventory.
Performs a combination of warehouse functions such as receiving, shipping, storing, and issuing items to authorized customers.
Operates forklifts capable of lifting loads over 10,000 pounds to move, load, or unload, transfer, transport, and stack or un-stack palletized goods, boxes, crates merchandise, materials, and supplies.
Operates gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles with gross vehicle weights of more than 4,500 kilograms (10,000 pounds) and up to 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds).
Prepares reports and other documents for inspection.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain installation forklift training certification and license within agency mandated time frame.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain the applicable Government driver's license.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Due to the nature of this position, the incumbent may be required to work holidays, evenings, and weekends.
- This position may require the incumbent to Travel (TDY) up to 10% of the time.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 25 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
- This position may require the incumbent to work during inclement weather.
- This position may require the incumbent to work mandatory overtime as mission dictates.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Current Civilian Employees of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Buchanan Logistics Readiness Center, within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Department of Army Civilian employees with competitive status.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Requisitioning and receipting of subsistence supplies utilizing automation systems; 2) Verifying supply orders; 3) Generating reports; 4) Operating forklifts capable of lifting loads over 10,000 pounds to move, load, and unload or transfer items; and 5) Investigating discrepancies in shipments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
