As an Emergency Management Specialist, you'll be responsible for providing assistance in supporting comprehensive agency wide crisis management, continuity of operations (COOP), and emergency/ disaster management policies and plans.
Location of position: General Services Administration, Office of Mission Assurance, Washington, DC & Philadelphia, PA

The GS-11 salary range starts at $79,839 per year. The GS-12 salary range starts at $95,694 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify for the GS-11, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience assessing emergency preparedness plans and procedures; coordinating incident reporting procedures; and participating in a range of Continuity of Operations (COOP) and disaster response related exercise events OR Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related OR Possess a combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.
To qualify for the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience 1) Coordinating the planning and delivery of local, state, tribal, territorial, or national level exercises; 2) Assessing emergency preparedness plans and procedures; and 3) Providing advice and guidance concerning preparedness issues.
