Duties
Responsible for managing the Clinical Practices/Clinical Recommendations (CP/CR) Office within the Clinical Affairs program office at the Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence (EACE) and reports to the Clinical Affairs Program Lead.
Develop and disseminate science-based clinical practice guidelines (CPG) or clinical practice recommendations (CPR) for standard of care for limb trauma and amputation patients across the continuum of severity and in each practice environment
Oversee the development and evaluation of CPGs and clinical support tools of research projects/programs, clinical treatment, and diagnostic approaches to resolve complex problems related to limb trauma and amputation interdisciplinary management.
Integrate into the clinical and research communities to refine evidence-based clinical practices and scientific information through identifying gaps and research objectives, assessing and synthesizing findings, and producing novel knowledge products.
Accountable to stay abreast of current scientific developments and to critically appraise current scientific literature related to amputation and limb trauma care.

Basic Requirement for HEALTH PROGRAM SPECIALIST (EXTREMITY TRAUMA) GS-0601-13:
Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting in the development of clinical practice guidelines, aiding in the evaluation of clinical support tools, providing care and rehabilitation recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
