Duties

You will perform complex military shore facilities projects with the responsibility for developing the complete design of major architectural features, either alone or with the assistance of lower graded technicians. You will apply a substantial knowledge of architectural principles, methods, and techniques. The incumbent is proficient in the use of the Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and Automated Design Technology (ADT) systems. You will review a variety of drawings, material specifications, test procedures, and other documents pertaining to assigned projects for technical adequacy and compliance with specifications and quality requirements. You will visit job site(s) while work is in progress to solve construction-related problems, and to recommend the appropriate action to resolve field problems. You will participate and provides technical support for Functional Analysis Concept Development (FAGO) for various architectural projects during the initial design stage.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) to accomplish planning and designing of architectural projects. prepares layouts, designs, instructions plans, cost estimates, and specifications for the maintenance, repair, construction, modification, or modernization of various buildings, facilities, structures, utilities, or system.
