Joining the Secret Service, Office of Investigations, Forensic Services Division will allow you to provide forensic support to the Secret Service and outside law enforcement agencies in the areas of 3D modeling, high resolution design and simulation.

Duties
The selectee will serve as a Visual Information Specialist (3D Modeling High Resolution Design and Simulation) in the Forensic Services Division. Typical work assignments include:
Performing a full range of highly complex assignments and projects that involve using acquired expertise in the tools and applications needed to create, plan, design, develop, and coordinate the production of, and collection of data for 3D models, modeling and simulation applications.
Managing the production of large-scale 3D modeling projects.
Working with clients to present best and innovative uses of 3D technology to meet client objectives.
Designing highly detailed and accurate 3D models of real-world places, highly complex building exteriors, interiors, urban terrain and complex real-world objects for real-time viewing or rendered animation from a variety of source materials including; aerial and ground based lidar, CAD, GIS, paper plans, aerial and ground photographs.
Collecting data at facilities to be modeled including photography for both texture and site familiarization, video, assisting in lidar collection.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $117,962.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level performing the following duties:
Leading 3D visual information projects to meet organizational initiatives and priorities;
Serving as a subject matter expert on the utilization of 3D modeling equipment, processes and techniques necessary to complete projects;
Advising on visual design matters to ensure the appropriate message is conveyed; and
Creating 3D modeling materials based on concepts and recommendations to generate detailed 3D visualizations.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility.
