About the Position: This position is located with the Joint Personal Property Shipping Office- Northwest at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. This position is a Term Not to Exceed 13 months. Duties

Ensure inventory is complete and report damage and missing items is accurate. Inspect crates and material for overseas or domestic shipment and rejects those not meeting specifications. Perform damage inspections when requested by the shipper or the claims office. Perform pre-awards survey for pack and crate contractor warehouse and equipment, in accordance with current regulations or directive. Perform witnessed weigh/reweighs on shipments as required. May halt work or notify contracting Officer of non-compliance with contract. Brief service member and Department of Defense Civilians on household goods entitlements and resolve problems. Advise property owner of service to be expected from carrier.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Tier 1(NACI) security investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period.
