Duties

You will provide all forms of information security accreditation support as required by the Director, HCOTG. You will provide guidance and assistance to the Director on system and application accreditations and other system security certification activities. You will identify end review security vulnerabilities to assess risks and determine effective measures to minimize such risks. You will provide support on Information Technology CITI procurement requests! or software, hardware and services. You will develop and disseminates the standard IT security procedures and protocols governing network/automation operations,

Requirements

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (INSERT TITLE), proficiency level (INSERT LEVEL) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification is mandatory within 6 months of assignment to position as required by DODI 5870.1M.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ability to install, configure, and maintain network hubs, switches, routers, and servers that support an organizations area network; monitor software development contracts to ensure compliance with specifications, plans, and coordinate testing and implementation of software; and, troubleshoot problems ranging from common to complex. In addition to the specialized experience stated above your resume must demonstrate one year of experience supporting the following competencies: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: reviewing and evaluating security impacts of system changes. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide support on IT procurement requests for software/hardware and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide training to fellow team members. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identify resources to be protected and find solutions. Education

In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.

or

equivalent doctoral degree
