This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction.
The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for directing and conducting financial, budgetary, and acquisitions related activities for the office.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Supervisory Financial Resources Analyst, GS-0501-15, you will serve as Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction's Deputy Chief Financial Officer and your typical work assignments may include:
Directing and/or supporting planning, developing and executing budgetary and financial actions to promote Countering Weapons of
Mass Destructions (CWMD) overall objectives and achieve optimal utilization of financial resources.
Managing the day-to-day technical, administrative, and personnel issues of the CWMD Budget and Finance Office.
Conducting analyses of proposed and current legislation for appropriations to assess impacts on planned and current projects, briefing leadership on impacts and recommended solutions.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
Exercising technical and administrative supervision over budget and finance staff in keeping with typical second level supervisory authority.
Leading comprehensive evaluations of programmatic investment and budgeting issues and briefing senior leaders, managers and other officials on findings and recommendations.
Coordinating with senior leadership and with program officials on budget development, execution and reporting, including providing guidance on planned acquisitions.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
